Hi, My name is Dylan and i have 12 + years experience as a worship drummer located in Sydney Australia. 

It was back in 2006, where my grandparents dragged me to church. In 2014 i served in worship team and i was playing the drums but, i wasn't really serving God at that time, until i met this guy on YouTube. He was from Canada and he had his own YouTube channel called 'Worship Drummer". He named his YouTube channel "Worship Drummer" because his motto was 'putting the HEART before the BEAT". The whole idea was getting drummers all around the globe coming together as a community to serve God and to preach the gospel to people. 

I've been listening to his podcast every day for almost 2 years and i've read other drummers blog, podcast etc but, he had a drummer in Australia on his podcast. He was from Hillsong Young & Free, and he talked about what Heart Before the Beat meant for him. Similar to my response, for me, Heart Before the Beat meant, whatever you do wether is serving, playing, studying, working, cooking etc, always put your heart to it and always serve the Lord every single day. 

There are so many stories from other people perspective about Putting the HEART before the BEAT but the main response is from the owner is, that we play for an audience of ONE, we lift the name of Jesus above any names, we wage war with the unseen world, and we follow the leading of the holy spirit. That really changed my life and nowadays, i've been serving as a worship drummer for 7 years moving forward. 

I'm going to close this blog with a scripture from Colossians 3:17 it says, "And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him".
